Who we are

What we collect and why
Enquiry and callout forms. When you send us a message or request a callout through the site, we collect the details you enter: your name, phone number, email address and the message itself. We use these to reply to you, to arrange a visit or quote, and to carry out any work you ask us to do. The lawful basis is that this is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.
Form submissions are emailed to greg@ghaleengineering.uk and a copy is stored on the website so we have a record if an email goes astray. We keep enquiries for up to two years from the last contact, and for the life of the job plus six years where the enquiry leads to work, so we can meet our legal and tax record-keeping duties.
Phone and email. If you call or email us directly, we keep the correspondence for the same purposes and periods as above.
Website analytics. With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are visited and roughly where visitors are located. Analytics cookies are only set after you accept them in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time using the banner settings.
Cookies
The site uses a small number of cookies. Strictly necessary cookies remember your cookie choices and keep the site working. Analytics cookies from Google are optional and are only used if you accept them. We do not use advertising cookies.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data. It is shared only with the suppliers that help us run the site and the business: our UK web hosting provider, our email provider, and Google for analytics where you have consented. We may also share information where the law requires it. Our website is built and maintained on our behalf by Krakn Digital, who may see form submissions while supporting the site.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent where we rely on it. To exercise any of these rights, email greg@ghaleengineering.uk. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS and hosted in the UK. Access to form submissions is limited to G. Hale Engineering and our website support provider.
